More Winter Weather on the Way

Another blast of wintery weather is heading towards Chatham-Kent.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement, calling for as much as 10cm of snow and the risk of freezing rain late Wednesday and into Thursday.

Officials with the weather agency say a low pressure system is likely to move into the area late tomorrow afternoon or evening. While confidence in the exact track of the low pressure system is uncertain at this point, officials say it is likely that snow will shift to freezing rain or rain later Wednesday night with temperatures expected to rise above the freezing mark.

If the track of the low shifts farther south, more of the precipitation would fall as snow which would increase snowfall amounts.
