Motorcyclist Dies After Suffering Medical Emergency During Charity Ride

An Ingersoll man has died following a collision during a charity motorcycle ride near Thamesville.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said emergency crews were called to Longwoods Road just before noon on Saturday after the driver of a motorcycle suffered a medical event and lost control of the bike. The bike slowed before coming to a rest in a ditch.

At the time of the collision, the rider was participating in a charity ride called “Freedom Ride for Teen Challenge.”

First responders provided lifesaving measures at the scene. The man was then rushed to the nearest hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The motorcyclist’s name has not been released but authorities said he was a 68-year-old man from Ingersoll.
