Multiple Charges Laid Following Chatham Break In

Multiple charges have been laid in connection to an attack at a Chatham home.

Chatham-Kent Police were called out just before 11 o’clock Tuesday night. Authorities say a 33-year-old man went into the home without permission, confronted a woman, and made several threatening remarks. The accused then allegedly assaulted two other people with an unidentified weapon, striking one of the victims several times.

Further investigation found the accused was bound by a probation order with conditions, including a ban on possessing any weapons.

The suspect was tracked down and arrested in Chatham on Wednesday. He has since been charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit an indictable offence, uttering threats to cause death, two counts of assault with a weapon, and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.
