
The investigation continues into a slippery situation on the 401 in Chatham-Kent.
Elgin OPP responded to the westbound lanes of the 401 near Bloomfield Road just after 10 o’clock Saturday morning for a report of a single-vehicle collision.
Authorities say further investigation showed an unknown vehicle had spilled a substantial amount of oil on the highway.
The westbound lanes were closed between Bloomfield and Queens Line for several hours to clean up the mess.
No injuries were reported.

Meantime, Chatham-Kent Police are expected to release more details today following a pair of collisions over the weekend.
