The number of municipal employees earning six figure salaries continues to grow.
The annual Sunshine List has been released with 184 names, up from 165 last year.
However, Chatham-Kent’s Human Resources chief says if the Consumer Price Index was applied, that number would be reduced to just 17.
Chatham-Kent’s Medical Officer of Health, Dr David Colby tops the list with an annual salary of over $270,000 after taxes.
The rankings include 97 members of the police service and 40 staff at Chatham-Kent Fire and Emergency Services.
Under the public sector salary disclosure act, any organization that gets provincial funding – including government agencies, school boards, and hospitals, are required to release salaries and taxable benefits of anyone earning over $100,000 a year.
