More bridge trouble in Wallaceburg, this time affecting boaters along the Sydenham.
Officials say a utility pole on the Murray Street Bridge was damaged by a car crash, and the hydro feed to the bridge needs to be repaired.
As a result, the bridge cannot be opened for larger vessels to pass on the river. Smaller boats that don’t need the bridge to operate can still go underneath.
The problems won’t affect vehicle or pedestrian traffic.
No word yet on exactly when the repairs will be carried out.
