Work on rehabilitating the Murray Street Bridge in Wallaceburg is in the home stretch.
The bridge has been closed since early March for a $1.9 million overhaul with the work expected to be finished on May 1st.
Officials with Chatham-Kent’s engineering department say crews are placing a new coating on the deck this week and hope to have the span reopened to traffic on schedule next Monday.
However, officials say the remainder of the work is weather dependent with rain in the forecast later in the week.
