The municipality has some good news for commuters in Wallaceburg.
Chatham-Kent’s engineering department has announced that the Murray Street Bridge will reopen to vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Sunday at 7 p.m., one day ahead of schedule.
CK officials said the $1.9 million rehabilitation project is in the final stages of construction.
The municipality will begin testing the bridge’s moveable span on Friday at 8 a.m. This process will result in the span being operated multiple times and there may be temporary delays for pedestrians crossing the bridge. Testing is expected to be completed by 5 p.m.
The span over the Sydenham River has been closed for rehabilitation since March 8.
