More manufacturing jobs are coming to Chatham-Kent, although officials are remaining tight lipped about any details so far.
Canadian Executive Search, a local recruiting company, posted an online job ad looking for applicants for positions at a new manufacturing plant coming to Chatham next November.
“Our client is within the automotive sector, manufacturing small parts of vehicles by utilizing various assembly, robotics, welding, machining, quality and/or other techniques,” the posting reads.
Chatham-Kent’s Director of Economic Development has confirmed an automotive manufacturing company will be setting up shop, the company will be using an existing building, and will be hiring significantly more than the 54 positions mentioned in the CES ad.
“The company is involved in automotive parts manufacturing,” McFadden tells CKXS News. “The company is finalizing details and are working towards an announcement next week.”
The job posting indicated those hired would commute to the company’s St Thomas location for training before the Chatham plant opens, with free transportation available from Chatham.
