It’s a slam dunk for a new three-on-three basketball court at McGregor Kinsmen Park in Blenheim.
Development of the new court was included in Chatham-Kent’s 2025 Parks and Recreation Master Plan, but no funding was allocated in the municipal budget.
At their meeting earlier this week, members of Chatham-Kent Council accepted a $45,000 donation from the Ridge Landfill Community Trust. Councillor Anthony Ceccacci is matching the donation with another $45,000 through his Councillor Ward Funding, which will fully cover the cost of construction.
Upon receipt of all funds, Chatham-Kent’s administrative staff expects construction of the court will be completed sometime this summer.
