Wallaceburg is one of 30 towns in Ontario getting electric vehicle charging stations courtesy of Scotiabank.
Samantha Mesrobian is the Director of Corporate Social Responsibility and says it’s a partnership with the government of Ontario.
“They have offered a program that we participated in to install charging stations in 30 communities,” Mesrobian says. “It’s very important to us because we are very committed to helping our environmental impact and our footprint through our branch activities.”
Each charge comes at a cost of $2.50, which is billed to a pre-registered account on the user’s credit card.
Other communities getting the charging stations include London, Stoney Creek, Ottawa and Waterloo.
