A homegrown doctor is coming home to Chatham-Kent.
Dr. Robert Wismer, who grew up in the municipality, spent two years studying and working in Australia before returning to Canada to finish his degree at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
This past October, he received his certification in family medicine and will be working in the emergency department.
“CKHA offers a high quality of care and it has been a wonderful environment in which to work,” Dr Wismer says. “I am happy to be a part of this team and I hope to make a positive contribution to my community during my time here.”
The Health Alliance is also welcoming an anesthesiologist, Dr Nicole Campbell, who comes by way of St Thomas Elgin General Hospital, where’s she’s worked since 2008.
“My family and I are looking forward to making Chatham-Kent our new home and exploring the area,” Dr. Campbell says. “The community atmosphere of the hospital was a big draw for me. I’ve received a warm welcome since arriving at CKHA.”
