New provincial funding is heading to Chatham-Kent to support local healthcare access.

The Chatham-Kent Community Health Centres are receiving $361,063, with another $30,538 earmarked for the Westover Treatment Centre in Thamesville.

The money, through the Community Infrastructure Renewal Fund, supports critical infrastructure upgrades and repairs, including urgent building maintenance such roof replacements, heating, security, and emergency systems.

“Investing in the infrastructure of our community health centres means ensuring these important local services have the safe, reliable spaces they need to serve patients and families,” said Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault in a news release. “This $539,100 investment will support needed repairs and upgrades at three facilities across Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, helping strengthen access and services for people in our communities.”

The funding is part of a broader $15 million investment to support infrastructure upgrades, maintenance and repairs at 67 community health service providers across the province.
