Edward International Academy is now up and running in Wallaceburg at the site of the old DA Gordon Public School.
A private company has turned it into a private high school catering to an international student base.
Principal Jessica Brooks says right now they have eight Chinese students taking English as a Second Language courses right now, with more slated to arrive in the fall.
“We’re basically just offering a July summer course in ESL right now,” Brooks explains. “We’re hoping to run a broader high school slate in the fall and the more students we get, the more courses we can offer.”
They have done a lot of renovations creating dorms and lounge areas for the students.
An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Sunday.
