Firefighters on Walpole Island First Nation have a new tool at their disposal to reach more remote areas.
In collaboration with Indigenous Fire Marshal Service, the Walpole Island Fire Department was able acquired a 2025 Honda Pioneer 700 UTV. The utility vehicle is also equipped with a 300 gallon water tank and water pump.
Officials say the acquisition was made possible with help from Indigenous Services Canada, through the Wildland Urban Interface Fire Protection grant.
