A Chatham man is facing charges, accused of trying to steal a set of forklift keys.
Chatham-Kent Police say a forklift driver was working on St Clair Street, stepped off the machine to get a drink, and heard someone say “nice set of keys.”
The accused grabbed the keys out of the forklift and ran, but was nabbed by the employee and a passerby, who held him until officers arrived.
The 26-year-old suspect is charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and failing to comply with his release conditions.
