21 Pit Bull type dogs get a reprieve but are still in OSPCA custody.  An application by the OSPCA to put down the dogs for behavioral issues was put over to March the 18th in Chatham Court this morning.

The dogs were taken into custody when the OSPCA along with the OPP busted up a dog fighting ring near Tilbury last October.

3 of the accused in the case have given custody of the dogs to rescue facility Dog Tales in King City.  In speaking with Clair Forndran of Dog Tales, she told 99.1 News that they have indeed reached an adoption agreement with the owners to take the animals but they are still in OSPCA custody.

MPP Rick Nicholls confronted Minister of Community Safety and Correctional Services Yasir Naqvi in the Provincial Legislature yesterday asking him to Save The Dogs.  The Minister said there is no legislation in place for him to do that.  Not so said Forndran.

Forndran says for now the dogs are like convicts on death row, just waiting for the next date when their case will be heard.  But the good news is they are at least alive, for now.
