A victory for local residents as a noise bylaw exemption request from a local wind turbine company has been denied. 
North Kent Wind had asked that it be allowed to work during the night, on Sundays and Holidays until the end of March to pour foundations and put up turbines north of Chatham.
A statement from the municipality says the request was denied because of to objections from the public and “inconsistency with the principles established by council within the bylaw.”
