North Kent Wind issued a statement today as the company seeks an injunction against the protesters, saying unlawful activity poses a safety risk to the participants and workers on site.

Spokesman Matt Dallas says they understand residents’ concerns about water safety.

“We have actively engaged and responded to concerns and hired qualified experts that have conducted testing at the Project site,” the statement reads, “and confirmed in detailed reports that the construction of the turbines will not cause harm to groundwater quality at water wells or in the broader subsurface groundwater environment.”

Water Wells First, however, say that eight families have now experienced contaminated water in their wells since construction of the turbines began a few weeks ago.
