Damage is estimated at $175,000 following a laundromat fire in Wallaceburg.
The owner of Westown Laundromat on Dufferin Ave and some customers noticed smoke coming from one of the dryers around quarter to six last night.
Fire fighters from Station 3 arrived to find smoke and flames coming from the roof of the business, and stayed on scene until 7:30 checking for hot spots.
No one was hurt, but fire officials say it’s a reminder to home owners to inspect and clean lint traps after every load of laundry, and regularly inspect the air exhaust to make sure it is not restricted and the outdoor vent flap opens when the dryer is operating.
