Trustees have approved the board’s budget for the 2017-18 school year, with a surplus of over $995,000 and change.
The fiscal plan comes in at just over 112-million dollars in all, up over three-million from last year.
Officials say the extra money, which comes courtesy of the province, covers special education and some capital projects, among other things.
The surplus will be used for future post-retirement payouts, as is mandated by the Ministry of Education.
