No New Cases Today, 2 Patients Released From Hospital

The COVID-19 numbers continue to trend downward in Chatham-Kent this week. CK Public Health is confirming no new cases in Tuesday’s report with two additional recoveries.

Two Chatham-Kent residents in hospital have now been released, leaving no COVID-19 positive patients in hospital.

The municipality is down to 25 “active” cases, with 417 total cases, 389 recoveries and three deaths.

The health unit still outbreaks at a place of worship and a congregate living setting listed as active.

Meantime, one new case of the virus has surfaced on Walpole Island. Chief Charles Sampson says the person has limited contact with the community, but is urging everyone to follow health and safety recommendations to help reduce the spread.

Ontario has broken the provincial daily record for new cases of COVID-19. The latest update from the Ministry of Health totals 1050 new infections, over 800 of which are from the GTA.

Closer to home there are four new infections being reported in Windsor-Essex, four new cases in Middlesex-London and no new cases in Lambton County.
