Applications are now being accepted for the 2026 Celebration of Youth Awards.
The honours are handed out by the YMCA of southwestern Ontario, recognizing local youth between the age of 17 and 20 whose outstanding talents and achievements have made a difference in the community.
The awards focus on youth who have demonstrated leadership, sensitivity to others, overcoming personal challenge, and service to community. Special consideration is given to those who are faced with financial barriers.
There are 11 categories, including the Agriculture and Environment Award, Champion of Inclusive Communities Award, and the Volunteerism and Community Service Award. Each successful recipient will receive $1000.
The deadline for submissions is Sunday, May 15. Award recipients will be honoured at the YMCA’s Celebration of Youth Awards Event in June.
