An Erieau man has been arrested after multiple nuisance calls to police.
According to Chatham-Kent Police, the same man called 911 five times in just over an hour back in January. Authorities say no emergency was reported and the caller failed to provide any valid reason for contacting emergency services.
Further investigation found the accused was bound by a release condition prohibiting any contact with Chatham Kent Police., including 911, unless requesting emergency assistance, reporting a crime or addressing a public safety concern.
Police formed grounds for charges, and the 46-year-old accused was issued five counts of failure to comply with an undertaking. However, he refused to surrender and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The man was found this Thursday and taken into custody. He was released with conditions and a date in court next month.
