
One woman has been arrested, and police are looking for another following a shoplifting incident in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service received a report of theft at a grocery store on Queen Street at around 5 p.m. on January 20, after a woman selected merchandise and left without attempting to pay. She left the scene with another woman who had arranged for transportation.
Following an investigation, police identified two suspects and warrants were issued for their arrest.
One of the suspects, a 33-year-old Chatham woman, was arrested on Tuesday at the Chatham courthouse on Grand Avenue West. She has since been charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property.
The other suspect, a 36-year-old Chatham woman, is still wanted on an outstanding warrant.
