One Person Taken To Hospital Following Three-Vehicle Crash

Police are investigating a three-vehicle crash in Chatham that sent one person to hospital.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said a vehicle was travelling east on Grand Avenue East on Tuesday shortly before 2:45 p.m., when it veered into the left turning lane as it approached the Communication Road intersection. The vehicle then struck a second vehicle that was waiting to turn left, before continuing through the intersection and colliding with a third vehicle in the westbound lane that was waiting at the red light.

One of the drivers was taken to hospital by EMS for medical treatment. The severity of the driver’s injuries has not been released.

An investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing.
