Online Threats Lead To Charges

Charges have been laid after a Wallaceburg woman was sent threatening messages over social media.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the threatening messages were initially reported to officers on March 10 after the woman received the messages from another woman who threatened to cause her harm.

The investigating officers were able to identify a suspect, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

The accused, a 28-year-old Walpole Island woman, turned herself in to police on Monday. She is now charged with one count of uttering threats to cause bodily harm. The woman was later released with a future court date.
