The local public health unit is getting a financial boost from the Ontario government.
Chatham-Kent Public Health will receive $382,633 in one-time funding from the province to support local public health initiatives and service delivery priorities.
The province said the funds will be used to address pressing needs while maintaining effective service delivery at the local level.
“Our government recognizes the vital role that Public Health Units play in building healthier, more resilient communities,” said Steve Pinsonneault, MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex. “This one-time funding will help ensure frontline public health services remain strong and responsive to the needs of residents.”
The funding is part of a $60 million investment from the government to help strengthen programs and services at the 29 public health units across Ontario for the 2025–2026 fiscal year.
