Ontario’s Action Plan Released

Today is supposed to be budget day in Ontario, however, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, finance minister Rod Phillips instead released a scaled down economic and fiscal update.

The “Ontario Action Plan” is highlighted by $17 billion in additional health care resources and support for people, and jobs and employers.

The plan supplies $7 billion in resources for the health care system and direct support for people and jobs. It also supplies $10 billion in support for “people and businesses” through tax deferrals, protection of jobs and household budgets.

The province says the response is a critical first step to ensure our health care system, communities and economy are positioned to weather the challenges ahead.
