An upcoming mental health event is providing the community with an opportunity to connect, share experiences, and feel less alone.
The CO., a creative arts therapy organization in Chatham, is hosting a unique Open Mic Night on May 8 in recognition of Mental Health Week.
The evening will feature a relaxed, supportive atmosphere where participants can share stories, poetry, reflections, or simply enjoy the presence of others.
“This space is about creating room for people to express themselves in whatever way feels right — or to just sit, listen, and feel less alone,” said The CO. Creator Angel Bilagot in a news release.
Unlike traditional performances, this Open Mic Night is intentionally low-pressure with no expectation to prepare or perform.
“Attendees are encouraged to participate in whatever way feels most comfortable. This isn’t about being perfect or performing,” said Bilagot. “It’s about connection. It’s about creating a space where people can show up, be real, and maybe leave feeling a little more understood.”
The event runs from 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., and all are welcome with no registration required. Donations will be collected to support the CK Youth Wellness Hub.
