Over $220K Raised at CK Terry Fox Runs

Hundreds of thousands of dollars has been raised in support of cancer research.

Sunday marked the 45th annual Terry Fox Run with events held across Chatham-Kent.

With the support of roughly 300 participants and volunteers, the Dresden Terry Fox Run brought in over $142,000 with more donations still coming in. Organizers say they have exceeded their goal of raising one million dollars over the past 30 years, $1,063,835.89 so far.

Organizers of the Wallaceburg run say almost $37,000 has been raised with that number expected to rise. Since its inception, the Wallaceburg event has now raised over $600,000.

The Tilbury event brought in just over $44,000.

Final numbers are still being tallied for the Blenheim event.
