Over $30K Raised During Goodfellows’ Street Sales Campaign

The Chatham Goodfellows are shifting into high gear as the No Child Without a Christmas campaign enters the home stretch.

Local residents donated $30,728.94 on Friday and Saturday during the Street Sales portion of the annual fundraiser. That’s roughly 750 less than last year.

The Porchlight campaign, held earlier this month, brought in roughly $53,000. Officials say they are still collecting donations and will release final numbers on this year’s campaign in January.

Last year, the Goodfellows spent well over $230,000 to purchase items to fill toy and food hampers for the season.

Wednesday night, volunteers will be hitting the roads to deliver toy baskets. Thursday the Goodfellows will wrap up their season with packaging and delivery of food hampers to families in need.
