A British Columbia man has been arrested after more than half a million dollars’ worth of cocaine and fentanyl was seized during a drug bust in Blenheim.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with the Intelligence Unit and the Critical Incident Response Team executed search warrants at a short-term rental property on Erie Shore Drive and a vehicle at around 7 p.m. on September 5.
During a search of the property and vehicle, officers located and seized a quantity of fentanyl with a street value of around $500,000, and another $42,000 worth of cocaine. Police also seized mobile devices, a digital scale, packaging material, and a conductive energy weapon.
As a result, a 27-year-old man from Burnaby, BC was arrested and is now charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon. He was remanded into custody following a bail hearing and will appear in court again on Wednesday.
