Money continues to come in following last month’s Walk for Alzheimer’s.

Fund Development Coordinator Joel Emery says the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent will be releasing its final tally once all of the sponsorship funding has been received.

So far, the May 25th event held at Chatham’s Kingston Park has raised over $70,000, exceeding its goal of $65,000.

Roughly 150 people took part in this year’s walk, a slight increase over last year’s numbers.

Emery says this has been the organization’s most successful walk, with every dollar staying in Chatham-Kent to support over 1000 clients and care partners affected by dementia.
