Club President, Karen Dekoning, says proceeds from the event typically surpass $20,000 and helps to supports various programs for children, particularly the emergency lunch box program.

“Since I was running the program about five years ago the budget has tripled, which shows there’s an increased need for food for little people that come to school with nothing,” Dekoning says. “Sometimes if they don’t have something at noon, that may be the only food they might have had so far that day, and it’s very difficult to learn if you’re on an empty stomach.”

Various one-of-a-kind household items, paintings, and refurbished items were auctioned off at Club Lentina’s in Chatham last night.
