Pair Face Stunt Driving Charges

A pair of drivers are facing charges after police stopped two vehicles clocked at nearly double the speed limit in Chatham-Kent.

The Ontario Provincial Police Service said officers stopped the first vehicle in the westbound lanes of the highway at around 9 p.m. on Friday. The second vehicle was stopped on Bear Line Road at around 10:20 p.m. on Saturday.

Both vehicles were seen travelling at more than 80 km/h over the speed limit.

As a result, a 19-year-old Delta resident and a 27-year-old from Belle River are both charged with stunt driving.

The pair were also issued a 30-day licence suspension and their vehicles will be impounded for 14 days.
