Lots of excitement in and around the MSSC plant on Park Avenue East in Chatham on Friday afternoon.
Chatham-Kent firefighters were called to the factory just after 2 pm to find heavy white smoke billowing from a large furnace that had caught fire.
All workers were evacuated and there were no injuries.
Damage is estimated at $35,000, but the quick work of the firefighters likely saved over a million dollars in equipment at the plant.
