The municipality is hosting a public open house as it moves forward with an update to its strategic plan for parks and recreation in Chatham-Kent.

Members of the public are invited to attend the open house at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre on August 1 to learn and comment on Chatham-Kent’s new Parks and Recreation Master Plan.

The open house will feature interactive presentation boards that focus on a project overview, the study area, goals, objectives, wants, needs, and current perception among other elements.

Municipal staff will also be available to answer questions and receive feedback during the session.

The updated master plan will provide a long-term vision for the municipality’s park system, as well as specific policies and standards to direct day-to-day decisions on infrastructure, services, and programs.

The previous Parks and Recreation Master Plan was adopted in 2010.

The open house will take place between 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with residents welcome to drop in at any point during those hours.
