A tip to police about a suspected drunk driver has landed a Chatham man with charges.

Officers received a report of a potentially impaired driver in the parking lot of a Talbot Street West business in Blenheim shortly before 8 o’clock Monday evening. Officers tracked down the vehicle and found the driver unconscious behind the wheel.

Following a standard field sobriety test, authorities determined the man was impaired by drugs.

The 38-year-old has been charged with operation while impaired by drugs and alcohol, and failure or refusal to comply with a demand. He was taken to police headquarters and later released with a court date later this month.
