Charges have been laid after a woman was found passed out behind the wheel of her vehicle in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to Richmond Street at around 4:20 p.m. on Tuesday to check on the well-being of the woman who was asleep in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.
Believing the woman was impaired by drugs, officers placed her under arrest and took her to police headquarters for tests.
As a result, a 31-year-old Chatham woman is now charged with impaired driving by drugs and failing to comply with a demand. She was later released with conditions and a future court date.
