A special celebration is being held in Tilbury this weekend.
The Rotary-sponsored Interact Club of Tilbury is holding a Peace Pole dedication ceremony.
The Peace Pole is a new permanent community landmark to promote peace, unity, and global understanding.
Peace Poles stemmed from a Japanese grassroots organization called May Peace Prevail On Earth International. Organizers say there are now roughly 200,000 Peace Poles in communities around the world.
Sunday’s dedication ceremony set to start at 10:45 at the Tilbury Odette Library.
Residents are invited to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be passed on to the local food bank.
