Safety concerns about the Pegley Court tunnel will be discussed, including the proposed temporary closure of the tunnel at night to prevent suspicious activity.

Dave Gadoury, the Security and Emergency Planning Manager at the hospital says no changes will be made until area residents have had their say.

“Typuically it’s used during the day, so it makes sense to have some sort of barrier put in place that we can open and close because it does access directly to our property,” Gadoury says. “The open house is just to have the neighbouring properties come out and voice any concerns that they have if we go ahead with this proposal.”

The meeting is taking place today from 4-6 at the Frank and Mary Uniac Auditorium, next to the Emergency Department entrance of the Chatham campus.
