Petition Pushes For Change At Deadly St. Clair Township Intersection

Neighbours living near a deadly St. Clair Township intersection are lobbying to make safety improvements.

A petition calling for red warning lights at the intersection of Lambton Line and Brigden Road will be presented to St. Clair Township council tonight.

The petition, which garnered 120 signatures, calls for the warning lights to face Brigden Road, where there are stop signs in place.

Crashes are a familiar sight at the rural intersection, including a deadly one in September of 2011. Two Wallaceburg men died following a car-motorcycle collision.

Another incident occurred in January 2002 after a van collided with a recycling truck at the intersection. The driver of the van died.
