As the fallout from the COVID-19 spreads, organizations are stepping in to help those most affected.
One of those is NeighbourLink, which has a group of ‘Phone Buddies’ ready to help battle isolation-related depression and anxiety with phone calls and human connection.
Spokesperson Al Baker says they are there to help.
“The main purpose of the program is to reach out to people in need to provide them with human contact so they know they’re not alone,” Baker explains. “If people need groceries or things like that, because people will sit and fret over these kinds of things they’re not able to do, we will offer to do that as well.”
Baker is asking anyone who might know someone who needs a hand, or could use a phone call every day or two, to give the organization a call at 519-352-5647.
