Another piece of the local puzzle is in place ahead of the next provincial election.

Steve Pinsonneault has been acclaimed as the PC Party’s candidate, six months after being elected in the riding’s by-election.

“Representing Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is an honor and a responsibility I take to heart,” said Pinsonneault in a news release. “Whether it’s expanding health-care services, improving rural broadband, or training workers for the jobs of the future, I’m dedicated to making sure our communities thrive.”

“Steve Pinsonneault is a champion for his community, and his dedication to the people of Lambton-Kent-Middlesex is second to none,” added Leader of the PC Party, Doug Ford. “From improving local health care to investing in high-speed internet and addressing cost-of-living challenges, to fighting the Liberal carbon tax, Steve is delivering actual results that make life better for families. I’m proud to have him on our team as we continue working to build a stronger Ontario.”

In October, the Ontario Liberal Party named Cathy Burghardt-Jesson as its official candidate.

Ontario’s 44th general election is scheduled to be held on June 4, 2026, however there has been increasing talk of the Premier making an early election call.
