A local member of provincial Parliament has been appointed to several new roles within the Ontario government.
Premier Doug Ford announced his new team of parliamentary assistants to support his cabinet on Monday, including Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault.
Pinsonneault has been named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Rural Affairs, a role that will see him work closely with another local representative — Chatham-Kent Leamington MPP Trevor Jones, who serves as Ontario’s Minister of Agriculture, Food, and Agribusiness.
Ford also announced that Pinsonneault will serve as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, and Deputy Government Whip.
Pinsonneault was first elected as the MPP Lambton-Kent-Middlesex in a by-election in May 2024 and was re-elected in the 2025 Ontario General Election.
