Premier Doug Ford announced a new team of parliamentary assistants to support his cabinet on Thursday.

Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP Steve Pinsonneault has been named Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Transportation.

Pinsonneault previously served as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Rural Affairs, Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Emergency Preparedness and Response, and Deputy Government Whip.

“I look forward to bringing my hands-on experience in the transportation industry to this role, including managing maintenance for a trucking company, running a mechanic shop, and driving transport trucks earlier in my career,” Pinsonneault said in a post on social media. “These experiences have given me a practical understanding of a key factor and the important role transportation plays in connecting our communities and supporting Ontario’s economy.”

Pinsonneault was first elected as the MPP Lambton-Kent-Middlesex in a by-election in May 2024 and was re-elected in the 2025 Ontario General Election.
