Pipeline Construction Set to Begin

Enbridge Gas has announced they will start construction on their pipeline expansion project.

Andrea Stass is the spokesperson and says work will begin soon.

“Enbridge Gas just got approval from the Energy Board to start construction later this month on our Chatham-Kent Rural Expansion Project,” Stass explains. “It’s a $19-million project and it’s intended to meet the growing demand for natural gas among our agricultural, commercial, and industrial markets in Chatham-Kent and area.”

The municipality is kicking in half a million dollars for the project that will help with the infrastructure and benefit both agricultural and urban businesses.

The company has a fairly aggressive timeline, with plans to have the pipeline in service by the end of the year.
