Whitney Burk, Public Educator with Chatham-Kent Fire & Emergency Services says being safe is important, but if disaster strikes, you need a plan.
“Having a home escape plan is very important, we’re having people over, we’re entertaining we want to make sure those people that are spending the night they know how to get out safety, if you have your grandkids over especially, have a practice escape because there are seconds for us to get out and make sure we’re safe.”
Burk says having a smoke alarm is paramount.
