A local man has been arrested following a break-and-enter in Wallaceburg.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to the break-in on Water Street at around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, after someone forced open the rear door of a residence, causing significant damage.
A suspect was located nearby and taken into custody. However, during the arrest, the accused allegedly resisted the officers.
As a result, a 56-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with break-and-enter to commit an indictable offence and resisting arrest.
He was held at the South West Detention Centre until his next court appearance.
